No milsurps here for self defense, never considered it either. I like my Winchester M1200 Riot with rifle sights and Beretta 92SB. I usually have one milsurp out of the safe for aesthetics though.

A Nagant for your garage? I've been considering one....maybe in the future.

A bayonet IS effective! A couple of years ago I was sleeping downstairs and a knock came at the door around 2 AM. I didn't have a handgun handy (ya, ya, I know) so I grabbed my Chinese M44 and extended the bayo.

In the house I use a Firestar .40, my wife keeps her .38 Webley close. In the garage/workshop, a 1895 Nagant and a Mosin M44 live there, few things say "go away" better than a fixed bayonet. A SKS goes on trips with us.

Wow man, an AK in the kitchen? I've been lugging my AK 74 around in the trunk of my car since June.......just usually keep a .38 special (actually used in a defensive shooting by a friend whom I bought it from) in the living room and P1 9mm in the bedroom.

For "homeland Security"I have a Makarov in the living room,ak-47 in kitchen,12 ga. pump in the office,and a 475. Wildey in the nightstand.Last ,but not least, three of the toughest,meanest,long hair dachshunds that you have ever seen ! They are on constant roving patrol in the house 24/7. More then willing to rip the ankles off of god himself !!

I've got a Snake Charmer II .410 with #4 by the bed and a Bersa .380 in the nightstand with a .38 Special S&W Victory on top of the armoir in the Living Room by the front door. I sometimes change the Bersa for the CZ82 or Savage 1917 .380. The girlfriend has a Savage 1917 .32 and some Saturday Night Special .25 by her side of the bed.

At various places in the house and shop I keep a Taurus in 357, a Mak, a shotgun in 20 gauge, and a 9 shot 22 cal with shot shells in it. They move around as the situation calls for and are at times all locked in the safes. I try and never set a pattern and that way I always have something handy like when something was on the roof a few weeks back I had the tactical spot and 357 and the Mak when I went out in the driveway at 3:30AM. Bear cub in the apples was more scared of me than I was of...

No milsurps, Glock 17 with light in the bedroom. Glock 19, S&W titanium J frame, or Kel-tec .380 for carry.

Zombies's have no brains, feel no pain and you have to use your AR sniper to get them to hold still!

Silver bullets recommended, just in case they are "THAT" kind of zombie!!!

It depends on how far away from the house they are when they attack... But, if they get as far as the door and are still stupid enough to try and get in, I keep a Wilson 1911 in 45ACP and an 870 Deer model (21' barrel, magnum receiver and rifle sights) with #4 buck handy; which seems to be a popular...

The milsurp would be the Ithica 37. Further defence would come in with the .357 Ruger Vaqueros, the .357 pocket Taurus. For when the illegitimates flee from range. then it would be any of the rifles I could lay hands on. For a jolly good beating, it would be the Hawkins rifle, as it is never loaded, and takes a little under 2 days to load. If I had to stick 'em, it would be with the M44 Nagant. It has a wicked needle attached to the spout. If I had to ruin their outfits, I'd sic all 6...

No milsurps dedicated to home defense.

I've got a few Modern (heck most are still like 20-25 years old) nightstand guns, and a 12ga Riot gun, and a black rifle if the zombies are coming over the wire...but my modern guns generally have better sights, higher capacity, and are more well suited to defense than my collectibles.

Out of all the milsurps, only one...a Bulgarian Makarov, stoked with Corbon hollowpoints, in the living room and for trips to the corner store. Bedroom = Mossberg 590 12 ga and Springfield Armory Lightweight Bi-tone .45 acp with Trijicon night sights, stoked with Federal Hydrashock 230's.

You bought your wife some Peltor 7s electronic hearing protectors, but you don't have any milsurps for home defense, because you live alone?

None of my business I'm sure, but what I don't get is why living alone eliminates the need for home defense?

I keep a High Standard Brush short throw pump w/ T Shot and a Beretta 92 fs loaded w/hollow points for back up / The High Standard is nice I just have to point in the general direction . My wife has an S&W model 10 m&p .38 on her side of the bed....
